Braces/Aligners

Braces and aligners are both orthodontic treatments used to correct the alignment and positioning of teeth. While they have a similar goal.

Braces consist of metal or ceramic brackets that are bonded to the teeth and connected by wires and rubber bands. The brackets are strategically placed on each tooth, and the wires apply pressure to gradually move the teeth into the desired position. Dentists or orthodontists typically adjust the braces periodically to ensure progress and make necessary modifications.

Aligners are a more discreet alternative to braces. They are custom-made, clear plastic trays that fit over the teeth and gradually shift them into alignment. The treatment process involves wearing a series of different aligners over a specified period, with each set designed to progressively move the teeth closer to the desired position. The aligners are removable, but they should be worn for the majority of the day, typically 20-22 hours, to ensure optimal results.
