Root Canal Treatment

Endodontic treatment, also known as root canal therapy, is a dental procedure used to save a severely damaged or infected tooth. It entails removing the infected or inflamed pulp from the tooth’s root canal system, cleaning and shaping the canal, then filling and sealing it to prevent further infection.

The dentist or endodontist (a dentist who specialises in root canal procedures) carefully removes the infected or damaged pulp from the tooth’s root canal system during a root canal treatment. To remove any bacteria or debris, the root canals are cleaned, shaped, and disinfected. After the canals have been prepared, they are filled with gutta-percha, a biocompatible material that seals the canals and prevents recontamination.
